English for Medical Professionals (OET)

OET: An outstanding choice for health professionals!

Course description
This course prepares you for the Occupational English Test (OET). It follows the pattern of the OET and will help you to improve all four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The courses are suitable for medical professionals from non-English speaking backgrounds seeking to prepare for the Occupational English test, leading to professional registration in Australia. They are also suitable for registered medical professionals from non-English speaking backgrounds who wish to improve their language skills and communicate more effectively and confidently in English within a medical environment. . In addition, some professions (notably nursing) require recent graduates of non-English speaking background from Australian universities to pass the OET. OET is a profession-centered course, utilizing the language of specific health professions, and so may be a more natural test of English proficiency for overseas health professionals to use than IELTS.

OET tests international health practitioners in the following 12 professions:

If you experience as a health professional either in your country or in any other English speaking country or if you are currently studying for a health related diploma or degree, then there are many paybacks in doing OET as it will be specific to your profession and you can use your medical knowledge and vocabulary.
